The first of three presentations on Histograms with unequal class intervals. This is a nice presentation on understanding frequency density with animated bars. Steps are taken to show how a normal histogram (with equal class intervals) could be changed to one with unequal class intervals by combining groups of bars. This is repeated twice with two separate groups of bars to re-enforce understanding. Frequency is redefined as the area of each bar, the vertical axis is re-labeled and the original frequency table is re-constructed to take account of the new class intervals. This should remove the confusion that sometimes accompanies this topic. Worksheets included.
