Acre v Hectare

Measures PowerPoint Presentation

Acre v Hectare

This presentation looks at the history of the acre and how this imperial unit of measurement came about. We then look at the definition of a Hectare and compare the two.
We briefly mention the new Wembley Stadium in terms of acerage and conclude with the surprising fact that Trafalagar Square (how imperial can you get), was in fact designed as a metric square measuring 100m x 100m and so covers an area of 1 Hectare. This is London's only metric square.
This is a very nice presentation with lots of visuals to help the student.
