This is a PowerPoint math or maths presentation on the Normal Distribution. There is lots of animation in this presentation and we start by looking at histograms with different skewness. We discuss the ideas of left and right skew before introducing symmetrical histograms and the idea of the normal distribution. The bell-shaped curve is drawn through the symmetrical histogram. We also look at the location of the mean, mode and median for each case. We then go on (with the use of animated graphs) to explain that for normally distributed data approximately 68% of the data is within 1 standard deviation of the mean and 95% of the data is within two standard deviations of the mean. A series of teacher example questions/student questions with nice graphics then follows. This is a very useful presentation on the normal distribution with worksheets included.
