"This really is the best Functional Maths stuff around and is saving us a lot of hard work" DB, Head of Maths, Range High School, Specialist Mathematics School"
This functional maths presentation spans a good portion of the "Coverage and range" at both levels 1 and 2. Thirty questions covering lots of different areas including: ratio and proportion, equivalence of fractions, percentages, addition and subtraction of fractions, the 3 averages, drawing line and scatter graphs, correlation etc.
Lots of nice work for the students including plotting data on two children born on the same day and attending the same mother and toddler play group. Data comes from the development records as recorded by the midwife/health visitor. Students have a chance to contrast and compare this data with national averages that are contained (pre-drawn) on the same grid. Another exercise gets them plotting a scatter graph for height and weight for 10 babies aged around 6 months attending the same group.
Contains printable teacher Q + A sheets, student question sheets and all the worksheets that you need. Answers to all graphs are available at the click of your mouse. Should prove popular in the classroom.
