A Functional Skills Maths Presentation.
The presentation looks at how to calculate the Tax and NI for some employees of a small company. Basic and higher tax rates are clearly explained via several example questions with reference to tables. The same applies to NI calculations. Questions follow with salaries in the range 20k to 100k being looked at and students have to work out net pay in each case. Not as boring as it sounds. Students could check their final calculations using the link that is given to the very simple-to-use HMCE tax calculator.
