Probability (f) AND LAW |
Data Handling PowerPoint Presentation
An excellent presentation introducing the AND LAW with independent events. The use of outcome tables combined with spinners leads students to the fact that P(A and B) = P(A) X P(B) and hence that tables or lists for such events are no longer needed. We then go on to look at a whole series of examples using playing cards/coloured beads/spinners etc. Later on some examples are used comparing the AND LAW and OR LAW with reference to the probability line to drive home the point to students that they should NOT GET THEM MIXED UP. Three events (Die) are briefly looked at towards the end. Everthing you need here for an excellent lesson.
