You will require PowerPoint XP or higher (2003) to run all of the presentations in this category successfully. You may experience problems trying to run them on PowerPoint 2000 or below. A free PowerPoint viewer (2003) is available from www.microsoft.com. This will run all of the files OK.
All the presentations in this "Mental Arithmetic" category are designed to be used by teachers and/or students. There is a large amount of material containing thousands of differentiated questions set within stimulating, fun-like environments that students enjoy and will want to come back to time and time again. They could be used to "warm up" a class at the start of a lesson or at any time that you feel like a "mental 10 minutes". This full suite of files is available on the CD and "Full Site" licence holders will find them particularly useful.
They are also ideal for days when a cover/substitute teacher is working in the department.
This a very nice presentation on "Fractional Increase/Decrease. Whack a tennis ball at the chalked circle on the wall followed by one at one of the bottles. Green bottles give fractional increase and blue bottles the fractional decrease. Students work out the new quantity for the chalked circles. Authentic "tennis ball" and "breaking glass" sounds enhance the presentation. There are 50 pre-set questions and answers complete with animation and sound. Ever felt like banging your head against the wall with a class? Use this one!
Don't be without it!
