Sampling 2 (Stratified Random) |
Data Handling PowerPoint Presentation
We start by quickly reviewing earlier work on Questionnaires and Surveys as well as simple random sampling. We look at the idea that Stratified Random Sampling can be used where the population under consideration separates naturally into sub-groups or strata and that numbers taken in each of these samples is proportional to the size of the group. We introduce the idea of strata by looking at year groups within a school. We look at the usual school-type problems of surveys relating to home work and after school clubs.
From here we move on to look at data given in tabular form and work through a set of example/student questions. A useful presentation with worksheets included.
