A Functional Skills Maths Presentation.
Follows a gentleman called John who tries to lose weight by using a variety of exercise equipment down at the gym. We look at the different efficiencies of each machine and how many calories are burnt by spending different periods on each. We also combine this with diet and nutritional information from some foods and ask how long it takes to burn off the calories consumed after a meal. We also look at BMI (Body Mass Index) via a graph and use of a formula. Only 3 categories, (under weight, normal weight and overweight) are used so as to avoid any embarrassment with the O word. This is a nice presentation with 21 questions. Contains printable teacher Q+A sheets/student question sheets and all worksheets towards the end.
