We start by looking at multiplying by a scalar followed by general matrix multiplication including how to determine when two matrices can be multiplied by considering the dimensions of each. We then look at the identity/zero/determinant and inverse of a matrix (2 x 2) and derive the formula. Colourful animation helps drive the concepts home. A printable worksheet is included at slide 19.
